The car’s Grabber Orange paint lives up to its name even now and is in overall excellent condition. The previous owner had several 1968 California Special fiberglass body pieces added – the trunk lid, end caps and side scoops. After the repaint, the Mustang GT reflective side stripes were added and the factory hood fitted with pins. This modified ponycar rolls on BFGoodrich g-force radials, size 245/40ZR17 in front and 275/40ZR18 in back. Each tire is mounted on a five-spoke American Racing alloy wheel. The wheels are in excellent order while the tires show in very good condition. The stock front suspension and steering pieces were replaced with new parts and the car now rides one inch lower than stock. Front disc brakes were added. Trunk lid has no tension rods. The battery was relocated to the trunk and the spare tire was moved to make room.Under the hood is a Ford Performance crate 302 CID V-8 engine with SVO GT-40 cylinder heads, a SVO roller cam, an Edelbrock Performer RPM airgap intake manifold, a Holley 600 carburetor, Hedman headers and a Milodon high-capacity oilpan. It breathes via a Flowmaster exhaust and had a Borgenson power steering system. MSD and Pertronix ignition components have also been installed, as has a crossbar in the engine bay, plus a high-capacity billet aluminum radiator. A Richmond five-speed manual transmission backs the engine, along with an eight-inch rear differential with Traction-Lok.Inside, the interior received attention, too. Tan Corbeau bucket seats were added, with three-point seat belts and the rear bench seat was deleted. New carpeting is shielded by black floor mats bearing the Mustang logo. Auto Meter gauges have replaced the factory units, including a calibrated speedometer. Rear windows are fixed. The dash was finished with brushed aluminum panels. A wood-rimmed, three-spoke steering wheel and a center console were added. A Hurst white-ball shift lever, Autosound AM/FM stereo with Bluetooth and USB, complete the interior.
